Claire Alrich is a student of dance, rhetoric and discourse, and Spanish. Claire, who is currently studying abroad in Buenos Aires, is contributing to Ella through videography and choreographic concepts. She has choreographed for the December Dance Workshops and Chelonia with her pieces "Where I Found You" and "This is a Preview". Claire is also a talented costume designer. Beth Carner is a huge fan of fairy tales, especially of the story Cinderella, which is one of the reasons why she jumped on a chance to be a part of this student production. Just recently having been the Assistant Stage Manager/Fight Captain for Pretty Theft, Beth's experience in theater has ranged from performance to technical work. This experience with CinderElla production has been memorable.
Chris Johnson is director of dance at Beloit College where she teaches courses in modern and jazz technique, choreography, and dance kinesiology, and directs Chelonia. She has presented work nationally and internationally for Harvest Chicago Contemporary Dance Festival, World Dance Alliance and National Dance Educators Association, in Russia and Tanzania.
Alen Kerić is a sophomore majoring in Performance and Media Studies and minoring in Political Science. Alen has discovered modern dance from a background in Physical theater. The performance directed/choreographed/devised by Alen is focused on the human body. It deconstructs the socially projected meanings of a body, while playing with the notions of gesture, chance and stage picture. Alen is very excited to work on this student run project at Beloit College.
Melina Montesino is a nineteen year old student at Beloit College. Originally from New York City, she has dedicated her life since age seven to theatre. At the age of sixteen, she was required to take dance classes for a musical production. From that point on, Melina joined the Abrons Art Center Dance Ensemble and continues to dance ballet and salsa.
Nora Sullivan is a sophomore double-majoring in Mathematics and Anthropology. She has been dancing jazz and hip-hop since age twelve. She loves the story of Cinderella and the works of Ella Fitzgerald.
Mira Treatman is a dance-theatre artist and curator who works (and plays) in physical theatre for the stage and screen. Her work has been performed at The Philadelphia Fringe Festival, The Philadelphia Mausoleum of Contemporary Art, The Performance Garage, WOMYNSFEST, and most recently at the American College Dance Festival. Toby Walters is a newcomer to both dance and choreography. He loves jazz music, moving in odd ways, and freshly cut pineapple. He has choreographed for the December Dance Workshops and the upcoming Spring dance show.
Corinne Wiesner is a multi-focused artist and curator who brings artists together to share skills, work, and feedback. She has an album on itunes and experience in jazz piano, teaches ballet to children in the city of Beloit, has been dancing ballet since five, but is still relatively new to modern dance. Marilu is a sophomore double majoring in Dance and Economics.
Frances Willimann began her dance training at the age of sixteen. She intends to double major in dance and biology. She is thrilled to be a part of CinderElla and considers herself lucky to be surrounded by such a gifted community of choreographers, dancers, actors, and musicians.
